The story of Self-Doubting Peacock

"Once upon a time there was a peacock, a beautiful peacock with shiny and colorful feathers. This peacock live among many other birds, there are Penguin, Eagle, Chicken, Swallow and Mockingbird.

Every other bird are envy on Peacock. Chicken said ” Peacock, you have the most beautiful feather i have ever seen. I will be really grateful to have that kind of feather”

but peacock never believe what other birds are saying.

Peacock said “Look at penguin, Penguin can swim really fast and I can’t. What can i do with this feather”

“Look at Swallow, she can fly really fast, but I can’t fly with this feather”

” Look at Eagle, with his stern figures, everybody adores him, but what can I do with what do I look”

” and Mockingbird, she has the most beautiful voice rather than me, I can’t ever be better than her”

“and you chicken, human really loves you, they took your egg and listen to you in the morning, you meant something for them. But what I am? I can’t do anything with this feather”

Day by day the self-doubting peacock keep asking, why she can’t be like the others. Why God created her with this huge feather with no use.

and one day, a Wise Mole come to her. and said “Peacock, why you look so sad”

Peacock said, ” I’m no good, I’m useless, and everybody is better than me” and peacock again tell what other have that she doesn’t have.

the Wise Mole then said,” God created each of us differently, with different purpose” then he continued,” Penguin even he swim really fast, but he only have dull color, black and white, he can’t fly, he can’t sing either, but he really enjoy to swim and that what he is good at, that what makes him a good swimmer”

“Eagle, yes he has stern figure, he is the best predator, but everybody scared of him, he doesn’t have any friend. But he really proud of himself, so he feels okay with no friend he still have pride”

“and Chicken, she need to sacrifice her eggs to the health of human, and wake up every morning so the human can rise early. She is sacrificing the things that she love for a better purpose that what makes her noble”

then Wise Mole continue ” so kid, you have a beautiful feather that somehow have a purpose, you need to know what do you got, be proud of who you are and show it to other people. each of us have a pain and from the pain we gain something. so believe in who you are peacock ”

Peacock then start to think what the Wise Mole have said, and one day she goes out and extend her feather and create a giant big feather. Everybody was startled seeing her, and even peacock didn’t believe that this long feather can make a huge and beautiful pattern that she never seen before.

Since then, peacock really proud of her feather and tilt her head up high."
